1. Overview
VidSlop is an AI livestream platform. You can browse public rooms, watch generated video clips, and—when signed in—spend credits to chat prompts that influence what the character does next. Room creators can upload a starting image, set a character description, and publish public or unlisted ("private") rooms.
We process personal information to operate the Service, keep rooms safe, process credit purchases, and improve reliability. We do not sell your personal information.
2. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
Account & profile
- Registration details: name, email address, and password (stored in hashed form if you sign up with email and password).
- OAuth sign-in: if you use Google, we receive profile information Google provides (such as name, email, and profile picture) and link it to your VidSlop account.
- Account settings: display name updates and credit balance associated with your account.
Payments & credits
- Purchase records: we store payment identifiers, product purchased, credits granted, and timestamps when you buy credit packs.
- Payment processing: card and billing details are collected and processed by our payment partner, Dodo Payments. We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers.
- Customer IDs: we may store a payment-provider customer identifier to link purchases to your account.
Content you provide
- Rooms: room name, visibility (public or private), character description, starting image, and optional thumbnail image.
- Chat messages: text you submit in a room, associated with your account and display name.
- Generated media: AI video clips and related prompts created from your room setup and chat activity, stored so they can be played in the room queue.
Automatically collected
- Session data: session tokens, sign-in timestamps, and session expiry managed through our authentication system.
- Device & connection data: IP address and browser user-agent string may be recorded with active sessions for security and abuse prevention.
- Live presence: when you open a room, we count active real-time connections (for example, viewer counts) using server-sent events. We do not publish your identity in the viewer count.
- Technical logs: server and application logs (errors, webhook delivery status, and operational metadata) that may include room IDs, request IDs, and timestamps. We avoid logging full chat prompts in routine logs where possible.
3. How we use information
We use personal information to:
- Create and manage your account and authenticate you.
- Operate rooms, chat, credit balances, and the video playback queue.
- Process credit purchases, grant credits, and prevent duplicate payment crediting.
- Generate and store AI video clips through our video-generation pipeline.
- Moderate uploaded images and chat prompts before or during use of the Service.
- Maintain security, detect abuse, enforce our content rules, and debug technical issues.
- Comply with law and respond to lawful requests.
We rely on contractual necessity (providing the Service), legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, and product improvement), and consent where required (for example, optional marketing if we offer it in the future).
4. AI & automated processing
VidSlop uses third-party AI and automation services to operate the product:
- Video generation (fal.ai): starting images and prompts (including your character description and chat messages) are sent to fal.ai to generate short video clips. Generated videos are stored in our object storage and played in the room.
- Content moderation (Google Gemini): uploaded starting images and chat text may be analyzed by Google's generative AI models to detect policy violations before content is accepted or published.
- Google sign-in: if you choose Google OAuth, Google processes your sign-in according to Google's privacy policy.
Automated decisions may block or reject content that violates our moderation rules. If you believe content was rejected in error, contact us using the details below.
6. Public & private rooms
Public rooms appear in the VidSlop directory. Anyone can watch the stream, see chat messages, and view room metadata (name, thumbnail, creator display name). Do not post information in chat you are not comfortable making public.
Private (unlisted) rooms are hidden from the homepage but remain accessible to anyone with the direct link. Chat still requires a signed-in account and credits. Treat private room URLs like shareable links, not access controls.
When you delete a room from your account, we remove associated database records and attempt to delete related media from storage, subject to backup and caching delays.
8. Data retention
We keep information only as long as needed for the purposes above:
- Account data: retained while your account is active. You may request deletion (see Section 10).
- Rooms & media: retained until you delete the room or your account, plus a reasonable period for backups and legal obligations.
- Chat messages: retained with the room and shown to viewers in real time; historical messages may be included in room snapshots for new viewers up to our configured limit.
- Payment records: retained as required for accounting, tax, and fraud prevention.
- Logs: typically rotated on a short schedule unless needed for an investigation.
9. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, access-controlled cloud storage, and least-privilege credentials for production systems.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure. If you believe your account has been compromised, sign out of other sessions, reset your password, and contact us promptly.
10. Your choices & rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate account information in settings.
- Delete your account and associated content.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Export your data in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent where processing is consent-based.
You can update your name from Account settings. To delete rooms you created, use the room management pages in your account. For other requests—including account deletion—email us at [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.
If you are in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, you may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
11. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country to consent to online services). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
12. International transfers
We and our service providers may process information in countries other than where you live, including the United States. Those countries may have different data-protection laws. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for cross-border transfers.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes may be communicated through the Service or by email where appropriate. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
14. Contact us
Questions about this Privacy Policy or our data practices? Contact us at [email protected].
For payment-related questions, you may also need to contact Dodo Payments directly regarding transactions processed on their platform.
